Only One Tenth · One-page brief

No arm of government should take more than a tenth.

Only one tenth. Not a dollar more.

Roughly 90% of this country’s problems would be solved or substantially lessened by relieving the burden of overtaxation on ordinary Americans, so they keep what they earn and can afford a home, a family, and a future.

What it does

  • One federal tax, capped at 10%. Income, corporate, payroll, capital gains, and estate taxes are abolished, and Washington is barred from inventing a second tax beside it.
  • Welfare goes to the states, which decide what to fund. No eligible retiree’s check is cut: everyone 62 and older keeps full benefits; those 55 to 61 get buyouts and private accounts.
  • Families are brought to the floor (5%, then 2.5%), with $50,000 of mortgage principal forgiven per child. Only 100% disabled veterans and farmers reach 0%.
  • Money out of politics. A public pot funds every federal campaign equally. You may fund elections, never a candidate; private donations forfeit every deduction for ten years. Lobbyists face zero gifts and a ten-year revolving-door ban.
  • Undivided allegiance to hold office. Proof of renouncing any foreign citizenship is filed with the candidacy paperwork. Declaring that your seat serves a foreign nation, any nation, forces an expulsion vote within 30 days and an automatic recall. Criticizing the federal government is expressly excluded.
  • Two dollars home for every dollar abroad. Foreign aid is eliminated; any ever appropriated requires twice as much in the same bill for Americans. Defense counts for none of it.
  • Politicians paid the average American wage until the debt is gone. The rest of their salary is escrowed and vests only in years debt-to-GDP improves, certified by three independent audits.
  • The debt gets paid. A nickel on every dollar transaction, a slice of every levy, and a revalued gold reserve go straight to principal.
  • $100,000 a year on every H-1B and equivalent work visa, and an exit levy on anyone who renounces citizenship to dodge the tithe.
